Lourdes Alanis was the first in her family to attend college, receiving her undergraduate degree in Biological Anthropology from the University of California, Los Angeles. After graduating, she completed two years of post-baccalaureate work at the University of California, Irvine as a participant in the Pre-Medical Post-Baccalaureate Enhancement Program (PEPP).

 

Currently, Lourdes is a second-year medical student and very active in the surrounding community by volunteering for the Student Run Homeless Clinic. She is interested in pursuing a master’s degree in public health and public policy and plans to practice in underserved communities as a family physician.
